A garden notebook for next season
A useful garden notebook is not a catalogue of successes. Failed seedlings, awkward containers and a plant that needed more shade are all information worth keeping. A few specific notes can save repeated guesswork next year.
Make a simple plan of the space and label where each plant grew. Add the variety name if known, approximate planting time and observations about light and water. Photographs help when they show the whole arrangement as well as individual flowers.
At the end of the season, choose one change to test next time. Keeping the rest of the arrangement familiar makes the result easier to understand.
